A Model of Determination and Ambition in Clinical Nutrition

by : Farida Nasr Farag

In a world full of challenges, some choose to give up, while others turn obstacles into stepping stones for success.

Yasmin Ibrahim El-Gharib belongs to the latter group.

She never let difficulties stop her; instead, she used them as a ladder to climb toward her dreams, believing that "Life is a journey, not a race"

From El-Mahalla El-Kubra and as a student at the Faculty of Economics – Nutrition Department at Menoufia University, Yasmin began her journey driven by a desire to share her knowledge with others.

She didn’t limit herself to university coursework but actively pursued training programs and hands-on experience at hospitals, Zewail City of Science and Technology, the National Institute of Nutrition, and Better Life Clinic for Clinical Nutrition

A Journey in Volunteering and Education

Yasmin realized that success isn’t just about acquiring knowledge but about sharing it.

Her introduction to volunteering through Mr. Mahmoud Abdel Ghaffour was a turning point in her journey.

She learned the value of giving back and started her path with the "Kayan Al-Abakera" team, where she delivered her first clinical nutrition training session—an experience that opened countless doors for her

Challenges: Fuel for Success

The road wasn’t easy.

Alongside the effort required to study and train, Yasmin faced significant challenges—traveling long distances for training, constant exhaustion, and skepticism from others.

But she refused to back down, facing every obstacle with determination, saying

"I can take on the world! A person defines their own worth, not society"

Achievements Worth Recognizing

Despite her young age, Yasmin has accomplished remarkable milestones.

She has earned multiple international certifications in clinical nutrition, trained over 600 students, and conducted more than 40 training sessions with various volunteer teams.

She currently serves as the Vice President of the "Your Food is Your Wealth" initiative under the Red Crescent and Head of the Training Committee in the "Al-Mumtaz" team for educational marketing

A Message to Young People

Yasmin firmly believes that "The world belongs to those who strive and work hard" She advises young people

"Spread your wings and fly! Never give up, never get lazy, and never let others define your future.

You are the hero of your own story, so write it the way you want"

Success Has a Deeper Meaning

For Yasmin, success is not just about financial gain but about seeing others benefit from her efforts.

She concludes with

"The field is vast, but I have the endurance to keep going.

And so, Yasmin continues her journey with a clear goal to be someone extraordinary—leaving an unforgettable mark in the field of clinical nutrition
